The approaching bank holiday, for many of us signals a long weekend away. If you are getting ready for a sunny (ideally) break away from home, we’ve pulled together a guide of what to pack.
A smart casual shirt
Unless you’re off to a Bank Holiday wedding, you can leave the formal shirt at home. A classic Oxford shirt – will see you through anything from country walks (to the pub) or heading out to dinner. Lighten up your winter wardrobe with fresh spring shades of turquoise, khaki and pink or play it safe with printed styles.
With the ever-changing UK elements to consider, you could be faced with glorious sunshine (here’s hoping) to BBQ-ruining lashing rain. To be on the safe side, prep for all weathers and pack layers. You can’t go wrong with either jeans or chinos teamed with a tee, shirt and lightweight knit. Add in a lightweight, Harrington jacket, which is smart and comfortable enough to see you through most- bank holiday activities.
In your jeans
Unless the dress code dictates otherwise (wedding, smart interview etc..), you can’t go wrong in a pair of jeans. Take 2 pairs – one darker denim for evening and blue Jeans for off-duty days.
Add structure with a blazer
When it comes to dinner reservations, especially with the in-laws, you can always throw on a blazer to err on the side of caution. Stay away from wintery, heavier fabrics such as velvet, and instead look for camel, grey or even check styles.
